Dear Sir / Madam,
I am writing to you with a proposal related to your list of classes at the Community Centre.
I am currently studying for a fine arts MA, but I am also very aware of the benefits of drawing in my free time.
It is not only relaxing, but it also helps me to focus and encourages me to get out and explore my neighbourhood.
With this in mind, I would like to propose a class called ‘Drawing on the Move’, which would allow participants
to draw, socialise and explore the city. I am willing to organise, advertise and teach the class on a voluntary basis.
I would be happy to meet with you to discuss any further details.
Yours faithfully,
Cecily Keller

DRAWING ON THE MOVE
Carslip Community Centre’s latest offer gives you a chance to practise your drawing skills, explore the city, and
chill out with like-minded people. Led by Cecily Keller, an MA student from the local Art Institute, the class will
focus on drawing techniques, drawing from nature, and exploring less-known parts of the city.
To sign up, go to carslipcommunityctr.org and follow the Free Time = Me Time link, or come in and talk to a
member of staff for more information.

Anybody done any of the activities at Carslip Community Centre? I’m intrigued, but not sure of the quality.
Ur Kelly
The ‘Phone Photography’ class was great! I learnt tons about phone cam features. I’m thinking about trying
a new class called ‘Drawing on the Move’. Sounds good!
Paul M
I tried the crossword group. It was with mostly older people, who I wouldn’t normally hang out with, but
I learnt a lot and made some new friends. Excellent, knowledgeable teacher too!
Devin D
Sounds pretty positive. So nobody’s had a negative experience?
James T
I tried the ‘Restaurant Restart’ group, but I thought it was really lame. It seemed like the person running the
class simply wanted to promote her friends’ businesses all the time, but none of them were anything special.
Give that one a miss!
Devin D
Thanks! I’ll keep your comments in mind, and maybe see some of you soon IRL in one of the classes!
Hey Jenny!
Hope you’re well. I was wondering if you’d be interested in (1) _______________ with me at the Carslip
Community Centre. The ones that I like the sound of most are ‘Crossword Mania’, where you learn how to make
your own puzzles, and ‘Phone Photography’, which teaches you how to make the most of (2) _______________
on the camera on your phone. Also, an acquaintance of mine, Cecily Keller, who’s currently doing an MA in fine
arts, is offering a new class called ‘Drawing on the Move’, which gives you a chance to (3) _______________ in
parts of the city that people don’t visit very often. I chatted with some people online, and they had
(4) _______________ comments about all the classes, except for something called ‘Restaurant Restart’, so it
seems like it’s a great place to (5) _______________ a new hobby. Let me know if you’re interested.
