TIPS ON MARKING
I. Read the answer given.
II. All answers should be considered at sentence level.
III. Merits and errors should be noted.
IV. Pupils’ ability to express ideas and use of interesting expressions should
be given due consideration.
V. Pupils may or may not use all the words given.
VI. Pupils need not comply with the word order given.
VII. Pupils are required to write within the stipulated range of words.
a. Section B(ii): < 90 words – deduct 1 mark
b. Section C: <110 words – deduct 1 mark
<120 words – deduct 2 marks
