People usually seeking for advice when they have a problem to solve.

We
can ask people in the same age or older. So, what are the advantages and
disadvantages of asking friends for advice.
There are clearly a number of advantages of treating friends as the best
source of advice.
To begin with, friends are usually in the same age or around your age and they
can have similar problems and probably they know how to solve them.
Secondly, they may have had a problem as you have and they can give you
some hints how to solve this. Furthermore, we can talk to friends on more
topics than with parents because friends may be interested in similar things to
us.
Moreover there are some situations in which we don't want to tell something
to our parents because we want to keep some things as a secret.
On the other hand, there are arguments against that to talk only to the
friends about our problems. To begin with we have to remember that the our
parents and the whole family is on our side and they could be very helpful with
solving more complicated problems. Secondly the older people have better
experience with problems and probably they had the same problems in the
past when they were younger. Furthermore we have to remember that the our
parents are always the best source of advice and they can have different view of
a situation and there is no case that they couldn't help us.
Taking everything into account asking friend for advice can be a good
idea sometimes, but we have to remember that our parents always have some
clues how to deal with some problems. In my opinion treating friends as the
best source of advice is not the best idea and parents are better source of
advice.
