I would like to start the speech with a question. Madam do u think hw is

really important
We go to school 7 for hours studying different subjects. We students also need 8 hours of sleep then
there is only 9 hours left in the day so isn’t 7 hours of schooling enough? What is your perspective?
Homework is a set of tasks assigned to students by their teachers to be completed outside
the classroom. Eventhough we think that homework helps to improve academic grades¸in
contrast homework also creates stress for students and parents, and reduces the amount of
time that students can spend in other activities. So this is a infographic which shows, most
effecint education systems in 2012.

So this table highlights that education system of finland is best.

For If we see the graph

Finland has number one education system while giving only 168 minutes home work per week.
In contrast China gives 828 minutes homework per week then again it is not even in the first 10
best education system. We can conclude that homework and education is two different thin

How important is homework for academic success

As you can see most of the parents think that homework is important and it is just right. Like in
my experience that I think parents also think that more homework means more education. By the
amount of homework they conclude that the child is studying. Parents are pregnant with this old
typical ideas about education, we need to educate our parents. That would help the students and
the teachers. Eventhough teachers don’t like to stress students parents judge teachers in a
wrong way. This helps for the students and teachers.

It is well known fact that parents do

homework for children, so is it worth giving children homework?

Purposes of homework Here you can see on week days 52% of the students sleep for 5 to 6
hours but in the weekend only 17% of the student are sleeping for 5 to 6 hours other have given
up sleep for homework. It indicates that homework can give students mental issues.

In srilanka there are so many issues like covid electricity food and fuel. Now this also became an
issue

homework can motivate a student or demotivate students, wiki says that homework help for
teenagers. according to a survey conducted in America it states that more the homework better.
However for highschoolers and elementary school homework didn’t help them for their grades.
Giving hw that students can do efficiently so they can develop other intrest and skills in their free
time if I had enough free time I would have continued my violin swimming classes. It would have
reduced my stress level.
