MODAL ANALYSIS Resonance is an important issue in engineering. We need to know the natural frequencies of the components in the structures. Our goal is to prevent the system from resonance. Ansys workbench can be used for natural frequency calculations. For this we are using modal analysis in Ansys Workbench, LY fe) Va ULNA hy + Modal analysis is a type of analysis that we can calculate the natural frequencies and mode formats of the system. Linear material limits are accepted in this analysis. Analysis is carried out within linear elastic boundaries. General acceptance is, there is not a non linear behaviour in the system. + We can limit the material by supporting it from anywhere or analysis can be performed without any support at all. In doing this analysis, there are two parameters that are required from us. One of them is mode quantity, how many modes do we want to calculate, the second one is in which “Hz” value do we want to limit our analysis. We have to give ‘one of these informations + If we want to see the mode shapes we can select all of modes and then right click to mause button and select “Create ‘Mode Shape Result”. + If we do Modal analysis with assembled parts we can define the contacts. But we can use only Bonded and No speration contact types. Because other ones are non linear contact types. + Modal analysis can be done in prestressed situations in " Workbench ". To do this analysis we can connect static structural analysis to the modal analysis in Workbench.
