Microbiology 255 = 4 credits
o With lab. Basic concepts of microbiology with emphasis on microbial
pathogenesis and immunity. Medically important microorganisms including
bacteria, fungi, viruses, rickettsia, protozoa, and the diseases which they
produce. Laboratory exercises develop fundamental skills in aseptic technique,
microscopy, pure culture study, and the isolation and identification of pathogenic
