Biogeochemical cycle refers to the movement of matter within or between the ecosystem, caused by living (biology),
geological forces (geology) and chemical reactions (chemistry).
1. CARBON CYCLE – Carbon is the basic constituent of all large molecules, common characteristic of living org.
o Life on earth is “carbon-based” (makes life possible)
o Carbon dioxide is the major reservoir of Carbon (occurs in the atmosphere and in water)
