Activity No. 4
Direction: Answer the following as indicated
1. List down the three categories of metacognition and describe each in your own words.
 Person Variables to apply in both the individual's comprehension of their own learning processes and the
broad comprehension of how students acquire knowledge and process it. This encompasses one's viewpoint
on the outside world as well as on themselves as learners and thinkers.
 Task variables help understand the nature of the task and the kinds of processing skills it will require of the
person. They also include information on the task's specifications. The answer is figuring out exactly what
needs to be done and how much work it will require.
 Strategy variable is evaluating the efficacy of your study methods by being aware of how you are going
about it. If you believe your current approach isn't enhancing your ability to learn, consider other
possibilities and try one. The concepts of meta-attention and meta-memory are related to strategy variables.

2. Based on the different aspects of learning, how do you compare an expert learner from novice learner?

 The level, breadth, and scope of the knowledge learned varies frequently. Novices typically pick up on
basic, limited, and personal size concepts. Experts typically learn things that are broad, deep, and at both
greater and smaller scales. Since most learning is gradual, professionals tend to acquire knowledge at levels
that beginners have not yet attained.
