Checklist for Proofreading

Please make sure that …

 paper length including references does not exceed 8,000 words (recommendation)
 British or American spelling is consistent
 non-native English contributors have their papers carefully checked by a native
speaker
 non-English examples and quotations are followed by translations
 footnotes are kept to an absolute minimum
 the abstract contains 100-150 words
 citations are given in the following style (Name year, first page-last page)
 you use only regular and italic formatted text
 you avoid any landscape formatted parts (tables)
 the paper contains the most essential formal parts (introduction, methods,
hypotheses, main part(s), discussion, conclusion)
 tables and figures are numbered separately
 pictures have a minimum resolution of 300dpi

 your personal data: name, institutional address, telephone, e-mail address


 a short title for running head
 a short academic CV (at the end of the paper)
 6-8 keywords
