Safety Plan

 Material and manual handling

Manual material handling (MMH) is the most common cause of fatigue and lower back pain
in construction workers.
To minimize the risk caused by overexertion every worker must take training for prevention
in manual material handling, this training must include the following information:

-Safe lifting techniques

-indications about what to do before lifting the materials
- stretching techniques

The workers involved in manual handling material must wear lifting belts during load
transportation, and when any material exceeds 50 pounds, it must be moved by more than
one worker.

 Collapsing trenches

To avoid the risk of death or injuries from collapsing trenchers during an excavation that
exceeded more than 1.2 meters a temporary protective structure must be installed
(Shoring, Trench Boxes, etc.)

During the excavation, the workers can not work under suspended or raised loads
and materials.

Barriers are provided in place to protect any person or equipment from falling into
the excavation or trench.

Workers must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including high-
visibility clothes

There should be warning signs throughout the excavation and keep first aid
equipment at the site.

 Electricity

Electricity is highly necessary for the realization of the project but at the same time could be a
dangerous tool if it is not handled carefully, to reduce the risk of electrocution the following
security measures will be taken in this project.

Workers can not operate electrical equipment in wet areas.

A tool which is used for electrical propose has to be insulated including PPEs, ladders etc.

Removing the metallic ground pin responsible for returning unwanted voltage to the ground from
tools and extension cords is prohibited.

In case someone is being electrocuted do not touch the person, the first thing to do is disconnect
the power source or turn off the breakers.

Access to panels and circuit breakers or fuse boxes can not be blocked.

 Asbestos, Airborne fibres and materials.

Use of appropriate respiratory equipment.

Do not use compressed gas to clean up and remove the dust from the areas.

Materials that contain asbestos waste must be labelled with the do not inhale indications.
