SIXTH WEEK TEST

INSTRUCTION: Complete ALL questions in this section in autoCAD.

Label and dimensions all necessary points.
1) Figure 1 below shows an elliptical fish pond for a small garden. The ellipse is 1440 mm long
and 720 mm wide. Using a scale of 1/12 , draw a true elliptical shape of the pond. (Do not draw
the surrounding stones.) All construction must be shown.

2) A cylinder is 48 mm diameter and a piece of string is equal in length to the circumference.

One end of the string is attached to a point on the cylinder.

(a) Draw the path of the free end of the string when it is wound round the cylinder in a plane
perpendicular to the axis of the cylinder.

(b) In block letters, name the curve produced.
