2 PUBLIC Content
1 Purpose

This configuration guide describes all activities you need to carry out before you implement the solution package from system preparation to implementation of the business content and
validation.

Further Info

This document is for the following target groups who already have a sound knowledge of the SAP Best Practices implementation, including tools and documentation.

● Business consultants: Evaluate business content/processes including troubleshooting, FAQ, and further information for extended usage of the package.
● Implementation consultants (application consultants): Implementation of business content and processes.

 Note

All configuration guides refer to the Admin Center tools and assume that configuration is carried out using the One Admin opt-in feature. If you change the opt-in feature to Next Gen
Admin, keep in mind that the paths given in the configuration guides are no longer valid. You can refer to the Admin Center Guide on the SAP Help Portal Discover Admin Center
for more details on the available opt-in features.

The SAP Best Practices content for Time Off Integration with Position Management solution:

● Is based on SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central – Time Off and SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central – Position Management
● Provides an accelerated deployment of the required configuration settings
● Provides pre-configured content for Integration of Time Off with Position Management

3 Preparing Implementation

3.1 Prerequisites

In the SAP SuccessFactors instance,Time Off or Time Off Leave of Absence should be enabled in provisioning. Furthermore, the Upgrade Center Item for Position Management should
already be executed before you execute this Upgrade Center Item on Integration of Time Off with Position Management.

3.2 Activation of SAP Best Practices Integration of Time Off with Position Management Content

The customer has already implemented Employee Central Core, with SAP Best Practices Position Management Upgrade Center content. Also, Time Off or Time Off Leave of Absence
has been enabled in provisioning. If there is an already existing super admin user assigned to a role with the necessary permissions for the activation of the solution via the Upgrade Center,
then you can directly carry on with the activation process. If not, enhance the role with these permissions and run the activation of the solution via the Upgrade Center.

 Note

Employee Central Core is a prerequisite for this integration. Employee Central Core is the employee central base which helps to perform basic HR functions from hiring to retiring.

3.2.1 Manage Permissions for Activation of Solution

For implementing the SAP Best Practices integration of Time Off with Position Management, some basic permissions are needed to run the activation and to check the result.

4 Implementation

This section provides an overview of how to implement the Upgrade Center Item Configuration for the integration between Time Off and Position Management.

4.1 Running Activation

1. Log on to your instance and go to the Admin Center.


2. In the Admin Center choose the Upgrade Center located below Get the latest Updates to your SuccessFactors.
3. On the Welcome to the SuccessFactors Upgrade Center page, filter by SAP Best Practices. In the Recommended Upgrades section, you will find the Best Practices Employee Central
Time Off Integration with Position Management.
4. Choose Learn More & Upgrade Now.
5. On Best Practices Employee Central Time Off Integration with Position Management page choose Upgrade Now.
6. In the dialog box, choose Yes for: Are you sure you want to upgrade to Best PracticesEmployee Central Integration of Time Off with Position Management?

 Note

You will not be able to undo this feature once it is upgraded.

7. A dialog screen confirms the update and that the activation is executed in the background.
8. Track the status of the upgrade as described in the next chapter Tracking Process.

4.2 Tracking Process

The activation will schedule several background jobs for executing each single configuration step.

After triggering the activation of the content, few e-mails will be sent out to the user who triggered the activation in the Upgrade Center:

● One with the subject Upgrade Center Notification: "Best Practices Employee Central Time Off Integration with Position Management " Upgrade Status which provides you the final status
of the upgrade.

5 Error Handling

5.1 Errors during Activation

This section helps you to solve problems that might occur during the activation process.

In case the creation or execution of the activation jobs failed, please create an incident on SV-RDS-HCM accessing the link http://support.sap.com/incident (user/password for accessing
Service Marketplace is required).

1. For the subject enter: Activation jobs failed


2. For the description, please provide details to access to your instance and attach the error status e-mail.
3. Select your installation / product / subproduct.
4. Send your request.

6 Post-Processing

6.1 Review Position Management Settings for Time Off

You can review the Position Management settings for Right to Return by performing the below steps:

● Go to the Admin Center and choose Org Chart Configuration Position Organization Chart .
● Under the Set the Side Panel sections that are displayed in the Position Organization Chart, review the checkboxes for the relevant sections that are to be displayed on the side panel.
Use the up and down arrows to control the order of sections.
