Like a British Officer said duing the battle of the mont cassino:

"the german soldier fights hard, and he is very presistent, not only in the defence
but in the counterattack aswell,
he is the best soldier in the world with no doubts about it"
One on one, with equal men and equipment the German Army simply would have
obliterated anything in it's path.
Only the Brits were close to a match with America coming last.

There was some quote by an SS officer stating the quality of their enemies and it
went something like
"The British were the best, then came the Russians, they were good soldiers but led
by poor officers,
The Canadians were hard men but definatly not the soldier type, and last the
Americans..."
there may have been more I can't remember.
Indeed the Wehrmacht is the best army ever seen in the history of humankind..

Despite fighting almost the whole world for 4 years, with near impossible
objectives, limited supplies, harsh weather,
the ordinary Landser has proven that they are formidable even to the soldiers of
the Bolsheviks, british Empire,
Americans and others....Even more formidable when they are cornered..

Few facts that made Wehrmacht are truly the best and formidable,

1) With the western allies' air forces pounding germany day and night by carpet
bombing, yet they were still able to
launched the Ardennes Offensive and their economic production rose
2) When the 6th Army surrendered in Stalingrad, many people said it's a turning
point in the W2,
but yet the Wehrmacht was able to capture Kharkov..

3) Look at the Battle of Normandy, Falaise Gap, Caen..the wehrmacht was pushed back
but look at the Allied casualties..

4) Look at the determination of the german landsers in Eastern Front...especially

1944-45...

5) Even in Africa, the DAK was lost but still able to mount a defeat of teh
Americans and Sid Bahou and Kasserine Pass

The german soldier amazed the world.....

But i had to say that the wehrmacht is supreme as a tactical army....They are very
bad as a strategical force

obediance commaradship and duty
