Inversion sentence structure : Negative adverbial word/ phrase + question form.

Exercise : Rewrite the sentences below in inverted form by using given expressions for each. Use the given
example for reference.

1. As soon as Patrick had finished writing the e-mail, he mailed it. (No sooner)
No sooner had Patrick finished the e-mail, he mailed it.
2. I haven't ever felt so lonely. ( never)
Never had I felt so lonely.
3. Peter didn't understand the situation. If he had, he would have quit. ( had)
Had Peter understood the situation, he would have quit.
4. I couldn't work because of the loud noise. (so)
