It follows Harry Potter's struggles
through his fifth year at Hogwarts
School of Witchcraft and Wizardry,
including the surreptitious return of the
antagonist Lord Voldemort, O.W.L.
exams, and an obstructive Ministry of
Magic.

Dolores Umbridge
The Senior Undersecretary to the Minister of Magic,
and the self-appointed High Inquisitor of Hogwarts.
Physically, Umbridge resembles a toad, and her
behavior is just as ugly. She is arrogant, vindictive,
and untrustworthy.

Luna Lovegood
A student and outcast at Hogwarts. Luna’s father
owns the Quibbler, a Wizard tabloid. She is often
mocked at school but doesn’t seem to mind.

Bellatrix Lestrange
Sirius’s cousin and a Death Eater. Bellatrix is
responsible for torturing Mr. and Mrs. Longbottom
into insanity. She is loyal only to Voldemort.
Harry Potter and the
Half-Blood Prince
As Death Eaters wreak havoc in both
Muggle and Wizard worlds, Hogwarts is no
longer a safe haven for students. Though
Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) suspects there are
new dangers lurking within the castle walls,
Dumbledore is more intent than ever on
preparing the young wizard for the final
battle with Voldemort. Meanwhile, teenage
hormones run rampant through Hogwarts,
presenting a different sort of danger. Love
may be in the air, but tragedy looms, and
Hogwarts may never be the same again.

Horace Slughorn
The newly recruited Professor of Potions at Hogwarts.
Slughorn is obsessed with making the acquaintance of
potentially powerful and influential young wizards. He hosts
weekly parties in his room, inviting only select students
known as the “Slug Club.” Posesses an important memory
of Voldemort, having been the first person to tell Voldemort
what a Horcrux is.

Rufus Scrimgeour
Cornelius Fudge’s replacement as the Minister of Magic.
Scrimgeour pesters Harry to align himself with the Ministry
to give the Wizarding world the illusion that they are
working together to stop Voldemort. He accuses Harry of
being “Dumbledore’s man” through and through.

Katie Bell
A seventh-year Hogwarts student and the Gryffindor
Quidditch team’s prize Chaser. Katie is cursed by a necklace
given to her in the bathroom of the Three Broomsticks.

Romilda Vane
A classmate of Harry’s who pursues a romantic interest in
him. Romilda gives Harry a gift of Chocolate Cauldrons
spiked with a love potion, which Ron consumes by mistake.
Harry Potter and the
Deathly Hallows
 In Harry Potter and the Deathly
Hallows, J.K. Rowling marks the
culmination of Harry's journey to
vanquish Voldemort. As the Minister
for Magic dies and the Death Eaters
take control of the Ministry, Harry,
Ron, and Hermione betake
themselves on a mission to destroy
Voldemort's Horcruxes.

Griphook
A goblin who worked at Gringotts bank.
Griphook is resentful of wizards in general,
but sees Voldemort’s regime as particularly
bad for goblin freedom and autonomy.

Aunt Muriel
Ron’s obnoxious and outspoken aunt, who
knows all the old rumors about
Dumbledore’s past.

Elphias Doge
A member of the Order of the Phoenix and
Dumbledore’s oldest friend. He writes
Dumbledore’s obituary for the Daily
Prophet.
