As a student who’s living in Sydney for a few months, you might want to put a halt to the
habit of eating in restaurants and canteens. The most convenient way to do that is learn
how to cook. Follow these simple recipes that will save your time and expenses on food,
apart from taking good care of your health.
Simple Pasta:
Boil water in a sauce pan and add a packet of Durum wheat pasta. Add 1 teaspoon of salt
and cook for 3 minutes till it is soft. Drain the pasta in a strainer.
Heat 2 tablespoon of oil in a pan and fry 2 medium sized sliced onions. Add 3-4 cloves of
chopped garlic and par-boiled carrots (sliced). Add salt, pinch of sugar and 2 teaspoon of
pasta Bolognaise sauce. Sprinkle some pepper powder and cook for two minutes. Add
parsley and a dash of cheese before serving.
Simple Sandwich:
Ingredients: brown bread slices, cheese slices, salad dressing, strips of bacon, shredded
lettuce leaves, salt and pepper.
Take slices of toasted brown bread. Apply a generous layer of molten cheese on one side
of the bread. Mix salad dressing and lettuce leaves in a bowl. Apply this mixture on the
cheese layer. Cook bacon strips for few minutes in oven, and place them over the
dressing. Place another cheese layered bread slice on it. Your sandwich is ready.
Ham Sandwich:
Ingredients: Few bread slices, few slices of ham, cheese slices, mayonnaise.
On a toasted bread slice, apply some mayonnaise and place one slice of ham. Place a
cheese slice on it and cover it with another slice of bread. Sprinkle some pepper
according to your choice. You can also add cucumber slices.
Chicken Parmesan:
Ingredients: 1 chicken breast, 1egg, 2 tablespoon olive oil, parmesan cheese (grated),
cheese crackers, pepper
Mix crushed cheese crackers, generous amount of parmesan cheese and pepper powder in
a bowl. Beat the egg in a separate bowl whisking it up. Cut the chicken breast into half.
Dip one chicken part in the cheese mixture and then in beaten egg and fry it till the
chicken is cooked. Serve with salads.
