Transformation of India after independence

Abstract
India after independence had to face many problems like illiteracy, poverty, regionalism etc.
Which were the great obstacles for the growth of India but still India has successfully faced all
this problems and achieved success. This paper highlights the growth of India, after she got
her independence.

Introduction:
Our country got independence from British officially on 15 th August 1947. It
has been 75 years since India got independence and now in India things have changed. India
is one of the leading countries of the world. India has adopted a democratic- socialist path for
its development and progress. India, after independence has managed to make significant
developments .the country has made a mark in there various realms of the market.

Service sector growth:


Telecom and software development had most of the growth in
the nation’s services sector. Several multinational companies continue to outsource their
telecom and IT services to the country. In terms of employment the services sector employees
24% of the Indian workforce and the process of development started back in there 1980s. In
the 1960s the sector employed just 4.5% of the working population. According to the experts,
the services sector accounted for 63% of Indian GDP (2008-2009) and the number continues
to grow.

Educational sector:
India has somewhat managed to bring its education system at par
with the global standard in some cases. A number of initiatives has been implemented to
eradicate illiteracy. The number of schools witnessed a dramatic increase after 1950s. The
government has declared elementary education, a fundamental right for children in the age
group 6-14 years by passing the 86th amendment to the constitution in 2002. At
independence, India’s literacy rate was a paltry 12.2% which increased to 74.04% in 2011. The
government launched a big initiative under the sarva siksha abhiyan on programme in 2001
to ensure education for the children from 6 to 14 years

Logical achievements:
Autonomous India has taken certain steps on its street to logical
turn of events. Its ability is being appear in a steady increase of aggressive ventures, India
invest whole heartedly in its space programmes which started with the sent off of its most
memorable satellite aryabhatta in 1975. Through chandrayaan 1 India turned into the 4th
country on the planet to establish its banner on the lunar surface in 2008. In June 2015, ISRO
send off 104 satellites from a solitary rocket through PSLV-C 37

Infrastructure developments:
The Indian road network has become one of the largest
in the world with the total road length increasing from 0.399 million kilometer in 1951 to 4.70
million kilometer as of 2015. Moreover the total length of the country's national highways
has increased from 24,000 kilometer (1947-1969) to 1, 37,625 km in 2021.
As India needs power too drive its growth engine, it has triggered and not
worth the improvement in the availability of energy by adopting her multi pronged approach.
After almost seven decades of independence, India has emerged us the third largest producer
of electricity in Asia. It has increased its electricity generation capacity from 1362 MV in 1947
2 three Lac 95,600 MW a soft 2002. Overall power generation India has increased from 301
billion units (BVs) during 1992 to1993 to 400990.23 MW in 2022.

Healthcare sector:
Increase in life expectancy is considered one of the major
achievements in healthcare in India. For example, life expectancy was around 37 years in 1951
it almost doubled to 65 years by 2011. Besides, infant mortality has also declined with death
rate coming down do half of what it was during the 1940- 50s. Moreover similar
developments were noticed in maternal mortality rate also. India has also been declared as
the polio free country. Malnutrition in children under five years came down to 44% in 2005
two 2006 from 67% in 1980.

Conclusion:
There is no denying that after India gained independence her citizens made significant
contributions to the economy and technological advancements. Indians are known for their
hard work, dedication and resilience to face any obstacles that comes their way.
