OPEN TO THE WORLD
Studying the world in order to bring about change: this has been Sciences Po’s ambition
since it was founded in 1872. We educate practical, forward-thinking decision makers and
socially responsible citizens capable of responding to the challenges of the contemporary
world and transforming society.
150 years since its creation, Sciences Po is now an international research university known
all around the world for its unique curriculum and cutting-edge research. It is home to 03
some 15,000 students and 270 researchers.
To its own extraordinarily multicultural community, which includes a student body of 50%
international students from 150 countries, Sciences Po adds a network of 480 partners
and more than 40 dual degrees with universities around the world. That makes it one of
the very top social sciences universities globally and probably the leading international
university combining interdisciplinary studies and professional skills.
Opening minds, honing critical thinking, shedding light on contemporary issues from
every angle and contributing to public debate: these are Sciences Po’s goals as an
institution. There is now a new aim at the core of our policy: studying environmental and
digital developments, identifying new solutions and training new change-makers.
