A few years ago, Mrs. Kyi’s church cluster began discipleship-mission training and

training, and started selling daily kitchen needs such as cooking tools, spices, rice,
oil, and more. As she went house to house and engaged customers, she shared
the Gospel of Jesus.
Her village is about 65 families, primarily Burmese Buddhist who tend to be
spiritually resistant and hard to reach. There was no Buddhist monk to object
to her efforts. She said, “Some people were not interested, but others listened
carefully. I sat a long time and talked with them in their homes.”
Over time, nine people came to faith in Jesus, and began to meet regularly,
adding a few more here and there, before the 2020 pandemic disrupted their
gatherings. Some men and families went elsewhere to better provide for their
