Statement of the problem

This research focuses on the English proficiency of students and its effects in multiple

aspects of their life and studies. In order to acquire all necessary knowledge, data, and

information, this research was designed to answer the key questions as follows;

1. What are the primary uses of English towards the academic performance of

students?

2. What is the level of the student’ English proficiency (based on grades)?

3. Is there a significant relationship between the English proficiency of students and

their academic performance?
