Dear South Carolina Journalist of the Year Selection Committee,

I am writing to enthusiastically recommend Mary "MC" Warner for the South Carolina Journalist
of the Year award. MC has consistently demonstrated exceptional qualities as a student and
journalist, making significant contributions to the field of scholastic journalism.

One of MC's notable achievements is her work in redesigning the school paper, showcasing her
creativity and dedication to enhancing the quality of journalism. Her efforts did not go unnoticed,
as the paper won 2nd Place in the National Scholastic Press Association Best of Show
competition for news design. This accomplishment speaks volumes about MC's commitment to
excellence and her ability to produce outstanding work.

In addition to her achievements in design, MC showcased her journalistic skills through a staff
editorial on the parental rights activist group "Moms for Liberty" and their involvement in recent
school board scandals. The article not only demonstrated MC's investigative prowess but also
garnered significant attention on social media, particularly Twitter. This highlights her ability to
engage audiences and bring important issues to the forefront.

Beyond her accomplishments, MC is a hardworking, creative, smart, inquisitive, and thoughtful
