Hands-On Project Week 2: Welcome to Allied Kicks!

Scenario:
You’ve just joined Allied Kicks as their new Salesforce associate. You’re just getting
started and are getting familiar with Salesforce. Your colleague has given you a run
through of Salesforce navigation and what the common objects are, so you are now
ready to demonstrate your knowledge back to your peers.

As a group, plan a demonstration, meeting the requirements below, that you will play
back to your mentor. You need to explain and demonstrate each step in your playback
as if your mentor is new to Salesforce.

Use a Trailhead Playground for your demonstration.

TIP: Plan your demonstration in a Trailhead Playground. Create a new Trailhead

Playground to deliver your demonstration to your mentor.

1. You’re starting out working with Sales records. To be more efficient, you want to
change the order of your tabs. The first five tabs should be:
○ Home
○ Leads
○ Accounts
○ Contacts
○ Opportunities
2. You receive a call from a potential new customer, Joseph Mwangi, who works for
Acme Labs. Ensure you record this prospect and the phone call in Salesforce
3. You’re going to meet with Joseph next week. As your manager will want to have
full visibility of this, ensure you create an Activity in Salesforce
4. Fast forward a few weeks, and Joseph is committed to buying from Allied Kicks.
Ensure that you can now track this potential sale, and can easily see that Joseph
and Acme Labs have their own Salesforce records
5. You’ve been introduced to Mandisa Nkosi who also works for Acme Labs.
Ensure Mandisa is added to Salesforce. Check that Mandisa does not exist in
Salesforce before you create a record.
6. Your team leader wants you to take a look at all of the Opportunities you are
working on. To be more productive in future, ensure this is the first view you see
whenever you visit your Opportunities and that the field Last Activity is always
visible
7. Your team leader wants you to show them how to easily see your Opportunities
in a graphical view. Demonstrate how simple it is to move Acme Labs’
opportunity to the next stage in this view
8. You’ve been doing such a great job that you have been asked to show the
Service teams how to access the Service Console. Show them how to view a
Case in the console
9. A new colleague is joining the team, find out if there are any remaining
Salesforce licenses available

Now answer the following questions individually and submit them to your mentor:

1. Allied Kicks now wants to implement invoice management. They don’t have a
developer who can build this for them. What do you suggest they do?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2. On the Opportunity record, identify a lookup relationship to a standard object

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3. Which tool can be used to see standard and custom objects and their
relationships to one another?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4. If your business had a model where a Contact could work for more than one
Account, what should be enabled?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5. If Acme Labs had a subsidiary that you need to add as an Account in Salesforce,
how would you demonstrate that they are part of the same company group?
