Video Analysis (Mona Lisa Smile)

When Leonardo da Vinci painted the famous Mona Lisa, her
husband begged her to smile, but she refused. She desired that
her happiness over her new child not overshadow her sadness
over the death of her first. Her half joy, half anguish, and her
wish to be remembered are all reflected in the artwork. So, the
film focuses more on her role as a teacher and her mission to
introduce feminism to the university before that term was often
used than it does on her romantic relationships. The movie
depicts a school where the main lesson is that a woman should
support her guy, and if her male learnt that, she would have
learned a lot more. The film's theme is that we should investigate
how women are portrayed in the media and in society as a
whole. It revolves around a woman who examines and
challenges life, the people in her immediate environment, and
life itself.
