Prop 24 - Young Professionals Organisation
Prop 24 - Young Professionals Organisation
Proposed
1.0. to: - The Executive Director and the Board of Directors of Pioneers Youth
Objectives
Date: - 01st of November, 2020
The rebrand seeks to position the organisation as a hub for young professionals rather than the
youth, which further seeks to distort the identity of the organisation.
Place emphasis on opportunities for career growth, mentorship, and skill development to attract
individuals early in their careers.
Maintain focus on youthfulness and energy signalling a commitment to innovation and
creativity.
Positioning Pioneers Youth as a hub for networking events and social activities attracting
young professionals who value networking opportunities for career advancement.
To support the established central theme of the organisation while breaking away from being
perceived as a youth club.
2.0. Proposition
a) Establish mechanisms/initiatives for volunteers to find individuals with similar interests within
the organisation and encourage collaboration among them. Accordingly, the Department of
Operations will establish a mechanism to reward these collaborations.
b) The Department of Creative Engagements must implement a mechanism to create a
‘Knowledge Support Team’ (KSTs) upon request made by a volunteer engaging in a particular
research or exploring different perspectives of a subject/topic. The duration of the KST must
be determined by the requester followed by the approval of Director (Projects). Credits will be
provided for all members of the KST for their support in the effort, while expecting a moral
obligation on the requester to take part in KSTs requested by the fellow members of his/her
KST. Acknowledgement of the organisation and the contribution of the KST members will be
valued.
c) The Media Crew together with the Regional Working Committees must establish a mechanism
for volunteers to receive a ‘shout-out’ through the social media channels of the organisation
for their professional work, research and achievements, irrespective of whether the
organisation was affiliated with the work or not. Where such affiliation does not exist, the
consent of the volunteer must be sought prior to such action.
3.0. Approval
Accordingly, I seek the approval of the Board of Directors for the following:
