In some areas of the US, a 'curfew' is impos,d, in which teenagers are not

allowed to be out of doors after a particular time at night unless they are
accompanied by an adult.
_ What is your opinion about this?

To start with, it is well know that freedom is the most valuable right a person
has. Consequently, it needs to be kept safe from any threath. I consider
limitations on movement a concept that can easily become a hazard , event if it is
stated to be in favour of security.

It goes without saying that teenage years are the most difficult and conflictive in
a persons' life. Nevertheless, they are also the ones where personal identity,
moral and believes are formed. As a result, helping kids to be safe on these stages
sounds really appealing. However, how that help is implemented is what is not quite
clear in the 'curfew' scenario.

First of all, this limitation does not take into account some scenarios where there
is a real need for the kids to move around alone. In some cases, there may be some
danger, so they would need to go out to get help. Sometimes, it is the adults that
are supposed to take care of them what are the real threat. Furthermore, some
teenagers work at night to help support their families.

Secondly, there must be a need for meassures in case somebody does not follow this
rule. Having some kind of fine or penalty does not sound like something easy to
apply. As evidence, court houses have piles of cases that only grow, no need to say
what priority can a teenager's nightly walk have.

It is my opinion that freedom should always be granted, as the opossite is a really

dangerous idea. 'Curfew' is a tool that should not be used under any crimsunstances
, as it attents against personal freedom and development.
