WHEN JESUS IS IN OUR MIDST
that you do not see your significance?
READING:
John 20:19 On the evening of that first day of
the week, when the disciples were together,
with the doors locked for fear of the Jews,
Jesus came and stood among them and said,
Peace be with you!
John 20:20 After he said this, he showed them
his hands and side. The disciples were
overjoyed when they saw the Lord.
Joh 20:21 Again Jesus said, Peace be with you!
As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.
Joh 20:22 And with that he breathed on them
and said, Receive the Holy Spirit.
Joh 20:23 If you forgive anyone his sins, they
are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they
are not forgiven.
1. The disciples are troubled (Nabahala)
2. The disciples are discouraged

3. The disciples are afraid (Natakot)
4. The disciples lost their vision and
purpose (Nawalan ng bisyon at layunin)
Are there any problems that troubled you that
you don’t have the peace of mind? (May mga
problema ba na bumabagabag sa iyo na wala
kang peace of mind)
Have you committed grave mistakes that you
lost the meaning of your existence?
(Nakagawa ka ba ng mabibigat na pagkakamali
na nawalan ka ng kahulugan ng iyong pag-
iral?)
Are you afraid that your ability is not enough
to fulfill your giant responsibilities? (Natatakot
ka ba na hindi sapat ang iyong kakayahan
upang matupad ang iyong mga higanteng
responsibilidad)
Do you feel bored, unworthy and invaluable
(Nadarama mo bang naiinip, hindi karapat-
dapat at napakahalaga na hindi mo nakikita
ang kahalagahan mo?)
The presence of Jesus can make the
difference… (Ang presensya ni Jesus ay
maaaring gumawa ng pagkakaiba...)
Mat 18:20 "For where two or three are
gathered together in My name, I am there in
the midst of them."
WHEN JESUS IS IN OUR MIDST:
I – HE CHEER US UP (PINASAYA NIYA TAYO)
Joh 20:19 …Peace be with you!
Joh 20:20 …The disciples were overjoyed when
they saw the Lord.
The greetings of Jesus, peace be with you may
have 4 meaning for us
1. Peace with God (Romans 5:1)
2. Peace in difficult times (John 14:27;
16:33)
3. Peace in our relationships (Ephesians
2:14-18)
4. Peace with the past (Romans 8:1)
II – HE COMMISSION US
• Joh 20:21… As the Father has sent me,
I am sending you.
• OUR MISSION:
• 2Co 5:18 All this is from God, who
reconciled us to himself through Christ
and gave us the ministry of
reconciliation:
• 2Co 5:19 that God was reconciling the
world to himself in Christ, not counting
men's sins against them. And he has
 committed to us the message of
reconciliation.
• 2Co 5:20 We are therefore Christ's
ambassadors, as though God were
making his appeal through us…
Ten Little Christians
III – HE EMPOWER US (BINIBIGYAN NIYA TAYO
NG KAPANGYARIHAN)
• Joh 20:22 And with that he breathed
on them and said, Receive the Holy
Spirit.
WHAT IS THE ROLE (GAMPANIN) OF THE HOLY
SPIRIT:
1. He gives us the words to say (Luke
12:11,12)
2. He convicts us, and our listeners of sin
(John 16:8)
3. He converts a hard heart (John 6:44)
4. He sustains us in the difficult times
(John 14:26,27)
5. He gives focus and substance to our
prayers (Romans 8:26)
6. He gives us the abilities to do what He
has called us to do (1 Corinthians 12:7)
7. He gives us Christ-like qualities
(Galatians 5:22-23)
IV – HE CHALLENGE US (HINAMON NIYA TAYO)
• Joh 20:23 If you forgive anyone his
sins, they are forgiven; if you do not
forgive them, they are not forgiven.
• This sentence does not mean that the
power to forgive sins was ever
entrusted to any man or men; it means
that the power to proclaim that
forgiveness was entrusted to us along
with the power to warn that
forgiveness is not open to the
impenitent. This sentence lays down
the duty of the Church to convey
forgiveness to the penitent in heart
and to warn the impenitent that they
are forfeiting the mercy of God.

one disliked the preacher, then there
were nine.
• Nine little Christians stayed up very
late, one slept in on Friday, then there
were eight.
• Eight little Christians on their way to
heaven, one took his own road, then
there were seven.
• Seven little Christians chirping like
some chicks, one disliked the song
leader, then there were six.
• Six little Christians seemed very much
alive, but one lost his interest then
there were five.
• Five little Christians pulling for
heaven’s shore, but one stopped to
rest, then there were four.
• Four little Christians, busy as a bee,
one got her feelings hurt, then there
were three.
• Three little Christians knew not what
to do, one couldn’t forgive another,
then there were two.
• Two earnest Christians, each won one
more, that doubled the number, then
there were four.
• Four sincere Christians worked early
and worked late, each won another,
then there were eight.
• Eight splendid Christians, if they
doubled as before, in just a few short
weeks, we’d have 1,024.
