    Research proposal

    1. Abstract 5 marks

    2. Keywords used in Literature Review (up to 10 keywords) 5 marks

    3. Background to the Research project (800 - 1000 words) 5 marks

    4. Literature Review (1500 - 2000 words) 20 marks


    Well referenced using IEEE style of referencing

    5. Gaps in literature (list 4-5 points) 10 marks

    6. Research Question(s)/ Research objectives (1-2 paragraphs) 5 marks

    7. Scope of your proposed project (up to 500 words) 10 marks


    Clearly describe what you intend to achieve, where etc.

    8. Describe the Research Methodology you are going to follow to answer your research
    questions/ research objectives. 20 marks
    (750 – 1000 words, use diagrams/graphs for better illustration, if necessary)
    (such as, what mathematical and physical theories, or lab experiments or models or data analysis will be used for
    the project; how the data will be collected etc.)

    9. List resources required for the project (up to 200 words) 5 marks
    (such as software, lab resources, field site, data, interviews, literature etc)

    10. Identify risk management plan to execute your project (up to 200 words) 5 marks

    11. Specify project schedule for next year 5 marks


    (use a Project management Gantt chart)

    12. List of References (at least 15 references – use IEEE style) 5 marks
