architect Chandrakant B Sompura and his son Ashish, The Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is
designed in the Nagara style of architecture. the temple stands proudly on 2.7 acres of land
in the historic temple town Spanning 250 feet in width and 161 feet in height, the main
temple area covers 2.67 acres, boasting 390 pillars, 46 doorways, and 5 mandaps. The main
Garbh Griha holds the idols of Ram Lalla, accompanied by multiple mandaps, including
Rang Mandap & Nritya Mandap.
The construction material for the temple mostly comes from Bansi Paharpur that includes
pink stone and sandstone. The statue of Rama is181 m (594 ft) in breadth and 251 m (823
ft) tall including a plinth and umbrella. Arun Yogiraj,is the master sculptor behind the divine

districts of HD Kote and Mysore. This stone, which has a black look is named
"krishnashila" because it is the same colour as that of Lord Krishna. The "Krishna Shila"
stone, known for its black appearance was used so that the stone does not corrode over time
or react when milk is poured over the idol.
Shaligram Stone is a fossilized ammonite, a type of mollusk that lived millions of years ago.
It is found in the sacred rivers of the Himalayas, particularly the Gandaki River in Nepal. the
idols of Lord Ram and Sita are to be carved out of a special stone known as the Shaligram
Stone
