BIOGRAFIA

Born in São Gonçalo, Rio de Janeiro, on July 12, 2000, Vinícius José
Paixão de Oliveira Júnior, better known as Vini Júnior, started playing
football as a child. At the age of 6, he was enrolled in a Flamengo
school and soon stood out for his above-average skills. At the age of 9,
he started attending futsal classes and tried to audition for the sport,
but, due to his young age, he didn’t pass. The following year, he was
federated by Flamengo and continued to develop his skills. Thus, at
the age of 15, he was part of the champion team of the Copa
Votorantim (Brazil Children’s Football Cup). In 2015, Vinícius Júnior
was champion of the South American Under-15 Championship, the
player was the second top scorer in the competition with six goals.
The following year, Vini Jr. Was called up to the Brazilian Under-17
Team and participated in the BRICS Cup U-17, Brazil won the
competition and the player was the competition’s top scorer with four
goals. From then on, Vini Júnior became coveted by European teams
and, as soon as he turned 16, Flamengo signed him to a contract.
Because of his great performance, in 2018, the player was sold to Real
Madrid for 45 million euros. The transfer, to this day, is the biggest in
the history of the Rubro-Negro team and the second biggest in
Brazilian football, second only to Neymar.
