    ‫مسألة‬ Night prayers at home or in the masjid

    ‫ ذهب قوم‬Ahmed + Muta’akhireen Ahnaf + ‫ خالفهم‬Malik, Shafi’i, Early Hanafis - Alone is better
    Muta’akhireen Shafi’is - Praying
    with Imam is better
    ‫ دليل‬Abu Dharr - When the people \ ‫ دليل‬Zayd b. Thabit - Best salah of a man is in the
    pray with the Imam until he ‫ جواب‬home except the fardh prayers. (This was said in
    finishes, prayer for the entire Ramadan when they wanted longer prayers).

    Abu dharr hadith shows that praying with Imam


    gives reward of the full night, but the hadith of
    zayd shows that the reward of praying at home
    should be even more rewarding than that.

    Ahnaf

    Mu’alla: Report from Abu Yusuf that whoever is able to pray in his home just as the imam would lead
    the people in ramadan, then it is preferred for him to pray at home.

    Marghinani: The sunnah regarding taraweeh is to pray in jama’ah but it is a sunnah kifayah.

    Ayni in Nukhab: If some of the people pray it in jama’ah then the one who doesn’t pray with them is
    leaving out the virtuous position.

    Finishing quran in taraweeh is mentioned as a sunnah of Umar (ra).
