Preface
Thank you very much for your purchase of a STRAPACK STRAPPING MACHlNE.
We are prepared to offer extensive after sales service for our products through our distribution
network.
To effectively use the strapping machine, daily maintenance and proper handling are important.
You are requested to have a complete understanding of this instruction manual for proper use and
maintenance of the machine over a long period of time.
Also, please carefully read the separate leaflet " Check that Seal ! " to prevent any accidents during
operation.

Location and Function of Units
① Sealing Unit ··············· This part of the mechanism cuts and seals strap.
② Arch Unit ···················· This is the arch track through which strap forwards and reverses.
③ Pool Unit ····················· Pools strap for smooth forwarding through arch track.

For Safe Operation
This important Instruction Manual has been prepared to provide you for
safe operation, easy maintenance and safety information relating to your machine.
It is essential that you carefully read ”For Safe Operation” and understand it
before you attempt to operate your machine.

In this manual, a warning symbol is used to call attention to hazards.


Be especially careful to read the items next to this symbol.
In this manual, WARNING and CAUTION are defined as follows:

WARNING indicates a potentially hazardous situation which,


if not avoided, could result in death or moderate injury.

Possible damage to equipment


CAUTION indicates a potentially hazardous situation which,
if not avoided, may result in minor or moderate injury.

Safety Alert Labels


The Safety Alert Labels are attached to machine.
Location and meaning of these labels are explained below : Read carefully Instructions on Safety Alert
Labels and follow them.
Replace missing or damaged safety labels with new safety labels.
If safety labels are replaced with new labels, make sure new safety labels are attached in the same
location as the replaced labels.

WARNING to the electric parts


Hazardous voltage can use electric shock. Turn off Power Supply
Switch before removing Upper Table for servicing. Do not touch

Control Box, Main Transformer, Heater Transformer and Transformer
for I.C. Board while power on.
Do not touch exposed Power Supply Cord.

Precautions for installation

Do not lay the power supply cord across any path where vehicles or
people are likely to walk on it drive over it. The insulation might be
damaged and expose wires which can cause electrical shock.

Position the power supply cord where nothing will damage the cord
or break the insulation, e,g., Strapping Coil. A damaged cord can cause an electrical shock.
Replace the cord if the insulatio becomes frayed or broken.

Do not handle the power supply cord or power plug with wet hands.
You may receive an electric shock.

Handle the polypropylene strapping with care. The sharp edges on


the straps could cut your hands.

Lock the casters unless the machine is being moved.

Make sure to push the machine in order to move it. Do not pull on the
machine. Pulling on the machine may cause injury.

Do not modify the machine. Modifications lead to machine malfunctions


and may cause injuries.

Make sure to connect the power plug to a power outlet that is connected
with a leakage breaker.

Allowing water or oil to come into contact with the electrical wiring
inside the machine can cause a malfunction.

Disconnect the power plug and wind the cord up when you need to
move the machine.

Do not move the machine by pulling on the power cord, as the power cord
may become disconnected, or broken.

Do not operate the machine except as described in this insturuction


manual. Do not use any materials or tool not described in this instruction manual.

Precautions for use ・ Precautions for Operation

Do not put your head, hands or other body parts into the Arch while
the machine is operating. The machine operates very fast and can
cause serious injuries.

Do not turn on the main power switch or the start switch while touching
or holding the Reel Unit. This can cause serious injuries.

Do not attempt to move a package by holding the strap. There is a


possibility that the strap might break due to the weight of the package.
Check the strap seal daily to insure proper seal joint.

Do not touch the Slide Table or Sealing Unit Drive Section during the
operation. This can cause serious injuries.

Do not touch the V-Belt while it is running. This can cause serious injuries.

Do not touch the Heater Plate. Its surface temperature reaches


around 400 degrees centigrade and will cause serious burns.Turn
touching the Heater Plate.

Do not remove any safety covers. Do not put your hands or fingers
into the machine from the bottom. The transfomer produces very
high voltage, and can cause serious electrical shocks. Also
contact with any of the rotating parts might cause serious injuries.

Turn of the power supply and pull out the power plug before
performing any mintenance, repairs, adjustment.

Lock the stop switch or turn off the main switch when the machine
will not be operated for a long period. Also, it is recommended that
you remove the PP strap from the Pool Box when the machine will
not be used for a long period.

After the daily operation of the machine is complete, make sure to


lock the stop switch and turn off the main switch. Make sure to clean
any dust or particles around the sealing unit.

Disconnect the power plug if there is a thunderstorm in the area.


The IC Box might be damaged by nearby lightning strikes.

It is recommended that you use the Foot Switch or the Table Ball
Switch instead of the Start Switch when you have to hold a package
in both hands.

Call the agent from whom you purchased the machine if you need
to change the strap size.Some different parts are required to
change the starp size.

The measured sound power level at a distance of 1 metre from the surface of
the machinery and at a height of 1.6 metres from the floor is more than 80dB.
Front side of the machine : 82dB
Back side of the machine : 83dB
Right side of the machine : 82dB
Left side of the machine : 81dB

Power Supply
Check the following when using the different Power Supply before threading strap.
Remove the Side Table ① (Fig. 2).
Put a Plug in the socket. Turn the Power Switch ON. Check the rotating direction of Timing Plate
② (Fig. 3) after pushing Start Switch (P. 8, Fig. 5).
If it turns clockwise (as the direction of Arrow), the machine can be operated without any problem.

If the Timing Plate turns counterclockwise, change the wiring of PLUG.


Replace Black wire with Gray wire.
Leave Ground (Yellow/Green) and Brown wires.

Set the Side Table ①(Fig. 2).

Operation Switch

There is Safety Switch located on the Front Door for safety. When the door
is opened, the machine can not operate even if the Start Switch④ is depressed.

① Power Supply Switch


Turning this switch on will supply the power to the machine.

② Operation Ready Switch and Power Indicator Lamp


When the power supply switch is turned on, the Power indicator Lamp will flash slowly.
After the Heater Plates reaches operating temperature and is ready to begin packaging,
the lamp will flash quickly (Approximately 25 seconds later.)
While this indicator is blinking, the machine will not start a packaging operation,
even if you press the start button.
If any of the safety devices on any of the motors (sealing motor, tension motor, or pool motor) is
activated, the power indicator will also start blinking. In this case,
it will blink much faster than at startup. Pay attention because the blinking speed
is different from the blink rate when the power is first turned ON.
To return to normal operation, find the cause of the problem and fix it. Then turn
the stop button to the right to release the alarm condition, and press the start button.

③ Tension Adjust Dial (T3)
The Tension Adjust Dial controls the strap tension. Although this model has an adjustable
tension stroke of 0 - 150 mm, the dial scale runs from 0 (minimum) to 10 (maximum), for the
operator's convenience.
Using this dial, set a suitable strap tension according to the size of the package.

④ Start Switch
This is the start switch which puts a strap around a package. By pressing this button, the
machine will automatically put a strap around a package and secure the ends of the strap to each
other.
In ordinary operation, you just press this button to put a strap on a package.
There is another Start Switch on the top of Arch.

《A Spec》
If no strapping operation takes place for 3 minutes, the Sealing Motor will be shut off by an
energy-saving circuit. To restart the Sealing Motor turning, press the Start Switch. If a
strapping cycle is not initiated, press the switch again or, hold it down in order to activate The
Sealing Motor and start a strapping cycle at the same time.

⑤ Stop Switch
Use the stop switch in emergency or whenever you want to stop the strapping cycle before it is
complete.
When pressed, the Stop Switch will lock.
This switch will bring the machine to a complete and immediate stop.
However, unlike the Power Supply Switch, the Stop Switch does not disconnect the Heater.
Therefore, the operator can resume strapping at any time without waiting for heater element to
warm up again.
To resume operation, twist to release lock on the Stop Switch and press the Operation Ready
switch to re-start rotation of the sealing motor.
The lamp inside the Operation Ready Switch will change from flashing to a steady light.
Then the machine will be ready for strapping again. when the machine will not be used for a period
of time, Press this switch for added safety.

If Stop Switch⑤ is not locked, the Reel may rotate at any time.

⑥ Forward/Reverse Switch (F/R SWITCH)


This switch provides manual control of the movement of the strap through arch track. To move
The strap forward through the arch, turn this switch counterclockwise and hold it until the strap
reaches the stopper under the Slide Table. You can notice when the strap has reached the
stopper because a striking sound can be heard. When this switch is turned clockwise, the strap
will be reversed while it is turned.

When the daily strapping operation is complete, turn off the main power supply and clean
away any dust or waste materials around the sealing unit.
Do not touch the heater until it has cooled down completely.

How to load the strap

Make sure to lock the stop switch ⑪ on the control panel and turn
OFF the power supply switch ⑩ before threading new strap.

A safety switch is installed on the front door, for your safety.


When this Front door is open, the start switch⑬ will not function.
1. Install the coil of strapping material while it is still tied in a roll. Orient the
coil so that the strapping is wound in a counterclockwise direction. Band Coil
Place the strapping material coil against the Reel In Circular
① and then install the Reel Out Circular ②.Then, tighten the Reel
Nut Handle ③ in a counterclockwise direction.

2. Cut the ties securing the coil of strapping material. That completes
the installation of the coil of strapping material. Inside surface
of the strap
3. Shift the Touch Lever ④ along the Lever Guide ⑤ from Position A (RUN)
into Position B (LOADING).
4. Thread tip of through Band Guide Roller ⑦ While pushing Reel Brake Arm ⑥ slightly upward and
Band Guide Roller ⑧. And, insert 15~20cm into Pool Box Inlet ⑨.
If it is too short or too long, the Self-Loading does not function.
5. Shift the Touch Lever ④ to Position A (RUN). Turn the Power Supply Switch ⑩ ON.
6. Unlock the Stop Switch ⑪ by turning clockwise. Press the Operation Ready Switch ⑫ so that
strap is automatically threaded into Pool Box and forward through arch track.
