EURORIB 2024 Conference

02-07 June 2024

Center Parcs De Vossemeren, Lommel, Belgium

http://eurorib2024.eu

Second Circular

The EURORIB conference series brings together the communities working at the different radioactive ion
beam (RIB) facilities in Europe. The aim is to explore new experimental and theoretical ideas that will
advance the understanding of nuclear structure and reactions as well as nuclear astrophysics through
studies of exotic nuclei. The exchange also concerns technical developments in the production and
manipulation of RIBs.

The conference is jointly organised by the main Radioactive Ion Beam facilities in Europe: GSI and FAIR in
Darmstadt (Germany), ISOLDE/CERN (Switzerland), GANIL-SPIRAL2 in Caen (France), ALTO in Orsay
(France), INFN-LNL in Legnaro and INFN-LNS in Catania (Italy), JYFL in Jyvaskyla (Finland), IFIN-HH in
Bucharest (Romania) and ISOL@MYRRHA at SCK CEN in Mol (Belgium).

The 2024 edition of EURORIB will be organised in Belgium, from June 2 to June 7. It follows, after a break
due to the pandemic, the editions in Giens (2018), Hohenroda (2015), Abano Terme (2012), Lamoura
(2010) and Giens (2008). Following the tradition of the series, an attractive and somewhat remote location
is chosen to maximise the time spent together by the participants.

TOPICS

All the topics concern specifically studies and results obtained with the use of radioactive ion beams.

• RIB facilities
• At and beyond the dripline and new modes of radioactivity
• Nuclear structure through theory and experiments
• Heavy and super-heavy nuclei
• Dynamics and thermodynamics of exotic nuclear systems
• Nuclear astrophysics
• Fundamental interactions
• Societal benefits and applications
• Instrumentation, electronics, and data acquisition systems
• Production and manipulation of RIBs
Invited talks are planned, followed by shorter contributions selected from the submitted abstracts. A
poster session will be organized. The best 3 posters will receive the NuPECC prize and will have the chance
to be presented in a contribution talk in the last day of the conference.

Participants are invited to register and submit abstracts for a presentation or a poster through the indico
webpage of the conference https://eurorib2024.eu, where additional information can be found.
