PANAGBENGA FESTIVAL
Blooming Flowers Festival or
Panagbenga is a month - long annual
flower festival celebrated in Baguio.
It was created by Baguio inhabitants
as tribute to the city’s flowers and as
a way to rise up from the
devastation of the 1990 Luzon
earthquake.

It includes floats covered mostly
with flowers and street dancing by
dancers decked in flower themed
costumes inspired by the Bendian
an Ibaloi dance of celebration from
the cordillera.
MASSKARA FESTIVAL
The MassKara Festival is
celerated during the third
week of October i Bacolod City.
MassKara is created from the
two word: mass meaning
“crowd” and Spanish word cara
meaning “face”

The mask used in festival
constantly change from masks by
native Filipinos to ones influenced
by the carnivals of Venice and Rio
motifs. The earliers make were
hand painted and adorned with
feather, flowers and native beads.
Modern mask feature plastic beds
and sequins.
KAAMULAN FESTIVAL
Kaamulan is an ethnic cultural
festival held annually in
Malaybalay City, Bukidnon
from the second half of
February to March 10.
Kaamulan is from Bukidnon
word amul meaning “to gather”.

It is held to celebrate the
culture and traditions of the
seven ethnic tribal groups-
Bukidnon, Hogaonon, Talandig,
Manobo, Matiglasug,
Tigwahanon and Mayamnon
that originally inhabited the
province.

Bukidnon tribal folks
representing the hill tribes
gather in unity with the local
dwellers in town, wearing
intricately woven costumes,
studded with trinkets, anklets,
earrings, necklaces, leglets,
headdresses, and amulets.

It is meaningful ceremony that
reflects the richness and diversity
of the Bukidnon culture. Bukidnon
gather for a common purpose, a
datuship ritual, wedding
ceremony, thanksgiving festival
during harvest time, a peace pact,
or all ceremonies put together.
KADAYAWAN FESTIVAL
Is an annual festival held as
celebration of life, a
thanksgiving for the gifts of
nature, the wealth of culture,
the bounties of harvest, and the
serenity of living.
KADAYAWAN FESTIVAL
It is celebrated every third week of
august honoring Davao’s artistic,
cultural, and historical heritage.
The Indak-Indak sa Kadalanan or
street dancing in colorful costumes
is the highlight of the event where
a variety of tribes parade the
streets wearing their tribal
costumes and jewelry.
