7 An Act relating to state government; enacting the
7 Patriotism Not Pride Act; defining term; prohibiting
8 use of state funds for designated purposes;
8 prohibiting display of certain flags on state
9 property; providing for codification; providing for
9 noncodification; providing an effective date; and
10 declaring an emergency.

13 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

14 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law not to be
14
15 codified in the Oklahoma Statutes reads as follows:
15
16 This act shall be known and may be cited as the "Patriotism Not
16
17 Pride Act".

18 SECTION 2. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
18
19 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 13001 of Title 74, unless there
19
20 is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:

21 A. As used in this section "agency" means any agency, board,
21
22 commission, department or other state government entity created
22
23 pursuant to the provisions of the Oklahoma Constitution or the
23
24 Oklahoma Statutes.

 1 B. No state funds may be used by any agency to develop,
1
2 organize, administer, engage in, promote, or endorse any activity,
2
3 including any event, initiative, official communication, social
3
4 media post, educational program, or public campaign, that aims to
4
5 promote or recognize Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and
5
6 Intersex Pride Month or any event with a similar theme.

7 C. No flag that represents sexual orientation or gender
7
8 identity may be displayed by an agency on state property or grounds.

9 SECTION 3. This act shall become effective July 1, 2024.
9
10 SECTION 4. It being immediately necessary for the preservation
10
11 of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby
11
12 declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and
12
13 be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
