Because this is an online module, the assignment questions are not provided in this tutorial
letter. Instead, the assignment questions are provided online as they become due. You will see
them when you go online. The assignment format will be online true/false; fill-in and/or multiple
choice questions. Only assignment 05 is a written assignment which you need to upload to the
module site.

The exam format will be online multiple choice questions only . The assignments are listed on
the left side of the myUnisa module site. Click on each “Assessment” link to go to the respective
assignment questions in order to complete it.

2. Year mark and final examination

To gain admission to the examination, you must have submitted at least 1 assignment during
the year. You will see that TUT101 refers to a year mark of 50% however this was revised to 1
assignment for the year.

To pass the module you have to achieve a final mark of 50% or more.

The final mark is calculated as follows:

Final mark = (Year mark x 0.2) + (Examination mark x 0.8)

For example: if you have a year mark of 68% and an examination mark of 50%, we would
calculate your final mark as follows:

Final mark = (68 x 0.2) + (50 x 0.8)


= (13.6) + (40)
= 53.6

This module is offered as a year module.

You will write your examination in January/February 2024. The exam duration and format will be
communicated.

The exam dates are communicated via the examination timetable on myUnisa.
