QWhy do so many women suffer from

hormonal imbalance and how their diet might be the problem?

Dailyspoon is a Lithuanian company that was founded to make people feel better with the
most nourishing ingredients. They also created a superfood mix for hormonal imbalance and
even posted a post about it and what to eat to help with hormonal imbalance “The good news
is that protecting your body and balancing hormones doesn’t necessarily have to be
complicated – certain food choices can help.“. The post was published on their official
website https://dailyspoon.lt on July 25, 2023.
Alisa Vitti of FLO Living is the founder of the Cycle Syncing Method to help cure
problems such as hormonal imbalance. She posted a blog about how to match your foods,
workouts, and lifestyle with your cycle phase “Before long, you will develop an intuitive
sense of how your body feels during each phase of your cycle and what it needs to maintain
hormone balance.” The blog was published on https://floliving.com on July 13, 2023.

How would I solve the problem?

To help women with hormonal imbalance I would recommend cycle-syncing. The diet really
affects the hormonal health of a woman. That’s why you should always pay attention to what
you eat especially what you eat during each phase and if you get the right vitamins needed for
your body. The most significant thing that you need to do if you have hormonal imbalance is
stop drinking coffee because it has a really high amount of caffeine which can mess with your
hormones. If you have a coffee addiction you can choose healthier alternatives like matcha
which has a much cleaner caffeine high, which means that the caffeine is released slowly
giving you more long-lasting energy. Matcha also has way more antioxidants. During your
menstrual cycle make sure to eat less sugar because it leads to more painful PMS therefore to
hormonal imbalance.

Plan
1. Analyse my research
2. Search for a recipe that can solve my problem
3. Cook the food using the recipe
4. Reflect on my success with the recipe and overall theme
So the food I’m going to cook is a hormone-balancing Chinese red bean soup for period
cramps. I chose this soup because it isn’t only good for balancing your hormones which is my
main concern but it’s also perfect for PMS. This soup is packed with potassium, magnesium,
and iron and has a lot of anti-inflammatory ingredients.
Ingredients:
 ¼ cup of dried adzuki beans (red beans) or ½ cup of cooked adzuki beans
 3-4 pieces of dried lily bulb
 1 piece of dried tangerine peel
 1 block of Chinese Black Sugar
 2 cups of water
 1 tsp goji berries
 1 tsp of osmanthus flowers (optional)
 1 tbsp tapioca boba pearls
 Additionally I will add grass jelly because it’s a good antioxidant that can help lower
high blood pressure and also helps with cooling your body
Instructions:
Soak the lily bulb and raw adzuki beans overnight. On the next day, add the soaked beans and
lily bulb into a pot with the tangerine peel. Pour in 2 cups of clean water and bring everything
to a boil. Cook for 30 mins, and see if the beans are soft to the touch and the lily bulb can
easily be cut by the edge of a spoon. If it’s not soft enough yet, cook for another 10-15 mins.
Once the ingredients are cooked, add in the sweetener of choice (I like to use Chinese black
sugar). Mash the beans a bit to help thicken the soup, then add in goji berries to cook for 10
mins. Separately, cook the tapioca boba pearls according to package instructions. Once the red
bean soup is done, take off the heat and scatter on some osmanthus flowers for garnish. Mix
in the tapioca and add in the grass jelly. Now enjoy:))
