MRI OF THE LEFT SHOULDER.

TECHNIQUE:

Multiplanar Multiecho MRI of the left shoulder.

FINDINGS:

No acute fracture or destructive osseous lesion.

Moderate supraspinatus and anterior infraspinatus tendinosis with partial thick-


ness footprint interstitial tear measuring 1.3 cm AP, involving 50% of the tendon
thickness. Teres minor is unremarkable and intact. Moderate superior subscapu-
laris tendinosis with subtle undersurface fraying / tear. No muscle volume loss
or fatty infiltration. Mild subacromial bursal fluid.

Long head of biceps tendon is in its anatomic location and reveals mild to moder-
ate tendinosis in the intra-articular segment. Moderate rotator interval scarring
with mild edema.

Mild posterior superior labral fraying. Articular cartilage and rest of the labrum
appear unremarkable. There is no joint effusion.

Acromioclavicular joint is intact. Neurovascular structures appear unremarkable.

IMPRESSION:

 Moderate supraspinatus and anterior infraspinatus tendinosis with


partial thickness footprint interstitial tear measuring 1.3 cm AP, in-
volving 50% of the tendon thickness. Mild subacromial bursal fluid.

 Moderate superior subscapularis tendinosis with subtle undersurface


fraying / tear. Mild to moderate intra-articular biceps tendinosis.
