Oracle Innovation Management Cloud Service

Within most enterprises there is a widening “Innovation Gap,” or misalignment of top-line corporate portfolio
strategies against tactical project execution, resulting in tremendous inefficiencies and finite, non-refundable
cost, time and budget loss. Disconnected innovation processes are trapped in departmental silos, processes
and tools, which lead to poor collaboration and lack of a single source of truth. Oracle Innovation
Management Cloud provides enterprise class capabilities to streamline, translate, optimize and execute a
balanced, achievable portfolio targeted to deliver winning offerings matched to growth strategies. Social
collaboration and embedded analytics enable faster decisions and traceability.

Innovative ideas can come from many internal or external influences. Innovation leaders leverage teams of
cross functional expertise to analyse the feasibility, achievability and potential value of each idea to identify
the right ideas to move forward into the process. Oracle Innovation Management Cloud captures ideas and
enables teams to socialize, vote on, and enrich each one with videos, documents, and other reference
content to determine whether the idea should advance into the innovation funnel. Even if an idea is not
selected, a full history of each idea and the related collaborative content remains available for downstream
reference and reuse.

Oracle Innovation Management Cloud standardizes the approach to developing a business proposal for each
requested idea which is translated into quantifiable business impact and business value. Decision makers
have a consistent process to evaluate proposals across a wide variety of factors such as cost, resource needs,
and expected value or revenue impact, all within the context of portfolio objectives and constraints. This
approach aligns each idea to a business strategy, correlates the value of each idea to the strategy and
demonstrates the total impact, so portfolio decision makers become more data-driven, and results-oriented.

Releasing new products ahead of the competition often delivers a powerful market share and monetary
advantage but only if the delivered product meets or exceeds customers’ expectations for quality,

Oracle Quality Management Cloud Service

Oracle Quality Management Cloud provides an enterprise solution to define, identify, analyse and correct
quality events and improve the overall effectiveness, safety, and profitability of users, products and services.

The solutions connect Research & Development, manufacturing, inventory, and quality assurance and
control to achieve greater quality visibility, insights and collaboration.

The Oracle Quality Management Cloud solution helps organizations in the following areas:

• Design for Quality: Specifications defined at the time of product design naturally flow to inspections
plans. It ensures that current and accurate data drives the inspection process without the cost of
custom integration between traditional Product Lifecycle Management and Enterprise Resource
Planning systems.

• Perform Inspections: Manufacturing and inventory personnel perform inspections at critical points
in supply chain execution, identify non-conforming materials, and alert stakeholders of potentially
harmful and costly problems.

• Manage Issues: Manage identified quality events in a controlled, consistent, and auditable manner.
Quality teams guide issues through containment, root cause analysis and ensure corrective actions
are implemented properly.

Starting Dashboard for Quality Management Solution

From a software functionality perspective, the application supports the two areas “Inspection Management”
and “Quality Issue and Corrective Action Management”.

To identify quality, an engineer can define inspection plans to check the quality of an item or to monitor
production resources. Based on a list of inspection characteristics, users define the allowed tolerances and

criteria, and finally define when and where the inspection should take place, either in inventory or in
receiving. The inspection plan ensures compliance and accuracy along the transaction execution whether
users perform inline, mandatory, incoming or in process inspection. Any inspection result is tightly linked to
disposition that drives quantities for the corresponding work order operations.

Managing a Quality Issue

Once a failure in inspection is reported, this generally creates a quality issue or non-conformance report to
start a root cause investigation. A quality issue captures the “who, what, when, where and why” of a quality
event and links it directly to the product record information like item or work orders. The investigation
process is supported by pre-defined quality workflows and approvals (8D CAR, 5 Whys) routing from root
cause communications to planned corrective actions. The closed loop quality circle is ensured by relating the
quality incident to an engineering change order. Once the change is implemented, the related issue and
CAPA are closed.

Manage recall notices

Organization can capture recall notices issued by different sources such as regulatory authority,
manufacturer or supplier. They can create recall notices through the user interface or integrate regulatory
authority data with the ERP through REST API or File Based Data Import offered by Product Recall
Management and perform bulk import of recalled parts. The organizations can resolve duplicates, if any,
when recall notices are captured from different sources for the same set of recalled parts.

A recall notice primarily includes the type of recall whether it is safety, advisory or voluntary, potential risk
involved and the classification of recall based on severity, recall reason, recalling firm details, replacement
type and recall instructions. Recalled parts are captured using the manufacturer part number along with
National Drug Code (NDC), manufacturer lot and serial numbers.

Locate recalled parts

Recall Management takes users through a guided workflow by publishing the notice, once it is captured and
any duplicated identified and resolved. This is followed by locating the recalled parts in the supply chain with
different traceability statuses listed below.

When the item is lot or serial controlled in Oracle Inventory Management, the recalled parts are traced by the
lot or serial captured in the recall notice. But when the item is modelled as a plain item in Inventory, the
recalled parts are traced by the recall period agreed between the buying organization and the recalling firm.

• Recalled parts that are in transit or available as a scheduled supply or lying in receiving dock before
getting shelved in the warehouse will be traced as INBOUND

• Recalled parts that exists in perpetual inventory will be identified based on stock availability and
shown as IN STOCK

• Recalled parts that are issued to PAR locations will be identified based on transaction history and
shown as PAR with an estimated quantity

• Recalled parts that are issued to expense locations as well gets identified based on transaction history
and traced as EXPENSE with an estimated quantity

Assign tasks and notify stakeholders

On locating the recalled parts, a pre-defined set of tasks gets assigned to the recall line based on traceability
status and the replacement type captured in the recall notice. These tasks include delivering the recalled
parts to quarantine location, performing recall count in the locations where the recalled parts reside, disposal
of recalled parts from quarantine location or performing a device correction. Recall Management provides
multiple options to view the locations where the recalled parts are identified and the various tasks assigned to
different departments or organizations.

Review trace details and task assignments

Organizations can configure rules in BPM according to business needs to notify the users responsible for
different departments to carry out the tasks assigned. When a recalled part is traced in an expense location,
the requester of that part by default gets the notification about the recall and the corresponding action to be
taken.

Monitor disposition details and closure of recall notice

Product Recall Management provides a seamless integration with Oracle Inventory and partner solutions like
RFSmart to perform a recall count in the identified locations using hand-held device and enables movement
of affected goods to quarantine location. The count quantity reported will be captured against the count
tasks assigned in different departments. Organizations can also leverage the Inventory Count REST services
to integrate with any custom built or third-party applications to report the recall count.
