Introduction of the company:

Bestway Cement Limited is the largest Pakistani cement manufacturer and a building
materials company which is based in Islamabad, Pakistan.
It was founded in 1993 and is listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange. Its largest
shareholder is the British investment company Bestway Group who own 56.43% of
the business.
Bestway Cement Limited (BCL) is a big company in Pakistan that makes cement. It
started in 1992 and is part of the Bestway Group from the UK. It's the largest cement
maker in Pakistan, producing 15.3 million tonnes of cement every year. This is a lot,
and they have 18.5% of the market in Pakistan. Over 3,000 people work for them.
They have eight places where they make cement: Hattar, Farooqia, Chakwal, Kallar
Kahar, and Mianwali. They built new plants in Mianwali and Hattar to make even
more cement.
To be more environmentally friendly, Bestway set up Waste Heat Recovery Power
Plants at all their sites. They also replaced water-intensive cooling towers with an Air
Cooled Condenser System at some plants, saving a lot of water.
A big achievement is that Bestway set up Off-grid Captive Solar Power Plants at all
their places. This means they use solar power that they generate themselves instead of
relying on the national power grid. They have the largest solar power capacity in the
region, producing about 91.47 MWs of electricity. They plan to increase this to
114.41 MWs by the end of 2023. This helps them be more sustainable and less
dependent on traditional power sources.

Bestway makes different kinds of cement, like Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC),
Early Setting Cement, Low Alkali, Low Heat and Low Chrome Cement, Sulphate
Resistant Cement, Lime Stone Cement, and Tile bond & Grout. They sell it in
different-sized bags and also in bulk. They follow international and national rules to
make sure everything is done right.
