1) You have been given a word from the LGBTQ+glossary list.
2) Now, using this word, create a gender literacy art poster
that sends an important message about a theme we have covered in this section on sex and gender. For example, your educational poster could promote healthy sexualities, challenge gender stereotypes, explain the meaning of the LGBTQ+ word, or encourage a comprehensive understanding of gender identity and/or expression.
3) Then, using a camera (such as the camera on your cell
phone) take a picture of your poster and have the image file ready to be uploaded into our Moodle Glossary.
4) Finally, click on the LGBTQ+ Annotated Glossary and using the
alphabet tabs, look for the letter that is aligned to your word, Eg: H for homophobia; I for Intersex; G for genderqueer. Be sure to also think of a clear definition of your word to help define and describe your artwork.
5) a) To add your word, click on the button Add a new entry
b) Type your word or expression in the Concept box and type
the definition in the Definition box
c) Now scroll down and under Attachment click on the Add
option to upload your picture to your definition.
d) Remember to scroll down and click on Save changes
6) To complete the assignment - Review the entries in the
LGBTQ+ Glossary of Terms and Comment on at least two of your classmate’s definitions and poster. Ideally, answer the two last definitions and artwork that have been uploaded before your own entry. In your Comment indicate how the definition and the art work has deepened your knowledge of Gender Literacy (minimum 30 words).
To post your Comment on a definition, click on the
