The Masters Games returns this year with a striking new look and a vision for more
people playing longer. Visitors and locals from 20 years old to triple digits will unite
in sport and play across more than 60 sports, over ten fun-filled days and nights.
Whatever your motivation, competitive or social – or a little bit of both –
the Downer New Zealand Masters Games is your invitation to ‘keep playing’!

Kick back, relax and enjoy Waitangi Day
with the fresh sound of Come on Up, a new
reggae/rock fusion sound emerging from a
band based in Whanganui. Come on Up
were recently the recipients of the Best Māori
Urban Roots Reggae Album 2022 at the
Waiata Māori Music Awards.
WEDNESDAY 8 FEBRUARY
Put your grey cells to the test with
the return of a Games favourite, the Quiz
Night. Featuring a guest quizmaster and
prizes, all at the Kinetic Electrical Stage.
THURSDAY 9 FEBRUARY
Fresh is best with Manawatū DJ
extraordinaire, DJ DFresh. Bringing a
bespoke mix of beats to keep the party
going, DJ DFresh will have you dancing
the night away! Fancy dress costumes
encouraged!
SATURDAY 11 FEBRUARY
Get the party started with Whanganui’s
own seven-piece Damn Raucous Brass
playing their signature New Orleans-style funk.
Later, Wellington’s premium covers band
The Relatives will have the dancefloor pumping.
FRIDAY 10 FEBRUARY
Go wild with KAOS! Bound to get you
dancing the night away, KAOS are a 5-piece
band from Whanganui with a set list that fuses
sounds like Bruno Mars, Billy Idol, Sublime
and Foo Fighters. They specialise in a party
atmosphere so bring your crew for
a night of KAOS!

WET WEATHER
In the case of wet weather, sports will adjust their draws and games according to their
respective rules and guidelines. We will endeavour to communicate changes as quickly
as possible to affected participants. We recommend downloading the NZMG App
to stay up-to-date with all the latest sports updates via push notifications.

RESULTS
Results will be uploaded daily to nzmg.com, accessible through the NZMG App
and posted at the Games Village.

OUR REFUND POLICY athletes with their
sporting dreams!
• If you withdraw your Games registration and sports entry before January 6, 2023,
you will receive a refund less a 20% administration fee.
• If you withdraw your registration and sports entry after January 6, 2023,
you will not be eligible for a refund.
• If the Sport Partner cancels the sport you have entered, you will receive a refund Air Chathams is proud to be
of your sport entry fee, or you can elect to have it transferred to another sport.
• You will receive a full refund if you withdraw your Games registration due the Preferred Travel Partner
to a sports cancellation. for the Downer New Zealand
• If any cancellation occurs due to COVID-19, you will receive a full refund,
less a 20% administration fee. Masters Games 2023.
• If a cancellation occurs due to weather or unforeseen circumstances,
you will not be eligible for a refund.

When you register for the 2023 Downer New Zealand Masters Games,
you are confirming that you understand and accept our terms and conditions:
• You must be a minimum of 20 years old to register
for the Games and have attained the minimum
age specified for any sport you wish to enter by
the date specified. Supporter passes are available
for people 18 years and older.
• Registration and sports entry fees are paid online
at nzmg.com using a credit or debit card. We don’t
accept cash or cheque. You can read our payment

• You must visit the Ricoh Check-in Centre at the
Games Village in person to check in and collect
your Accreditation Pass. You must present your
Accreditation Pass to enter the Games Village in
the evening. We will replace lost/damaged passes
for a small fee.
• Before entering any sport or activity, please
consider what’s involved, i.e., the physical
demands and any potential Health & Safety risks,
including environmental hazards. We recommend
only entering events where you feel confident that
you are physically capable of participating safely
and without threat to your health. Information

• Participation is at your own risk - Games and
sport organisers are not responsible for any
illness or injuries sustained during the Games.
