Dear Mehfuza Naeem Patel:

I regret to inform you that you were unsuccessful at the recent Pharmacist Evaluating Examination of
The Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada.

For your information, the next sitting of the Evaluating Examination is scheduled for June 19-20, 2024
and the application deadline is March 07, 2024.

When re-applying, the application and the current examination fee must be submitted within the PEBC
Candidate Portal, by the deadline date. For more information, please visit the PEBC website
(www.pebc.ca).

Your Document Evaluation is valid for the Evaluating Examination on June 19-20, 2024. However, please
be reminded that if the Evaluating Examination is not completed within five years of the date on your
Document Evaluation result letter, Document Evaluation will expire and you will need to undergo
Document Re-Evaluation before you are eligible to apply for the Evaluating Examination again. For more
information, please see Applying for Document Evaluation – Document Re-evaluation.

It is important to assess your examination preparedness carefully and not simply make another attempt
at the next scheduled exam date.

You are reminded to continue to observe the agreed to and signed certification statements on your
application form that stipulate that you cannot disclose or discuss examination questions or content
with anyone, at any time.

Kindly update any changes in your contact information within the PEBC Candidate Portal and be sure to
quote your PEBC ID number in all correspondence.

Sincerely,

John Pugsley, Pharm. D.

of your performance, your quartile ranking as a percentile of those candidates who failed the Evaluating
Examination is as follows:

Percentile of those Candidates who Failed the Evaluating Examination

F0 = 76-100th percentile (i.e. the top 25% group of all those who failed)
F1 = 51-75th percentile (i.e. the second 25% group from the top of all those who failed)

Information for Failing Candidates Preparing for Another Attempt at the
PEBC Pharmacist Evaluating Examination

Percentile Ranking
Your quartile ranking gives an estimate of how far away you are from achieving the passing (60%) score
for the Pharmacist Evaluating Examination.
Example: F0 is the group of failing candidates who came closest to achieving the passing score; F3 is the
group of failing candidates who had the lowest scores.

Relative Performance in the Major Subject Areas

Consider your individual relative performance as well as the blueprint weighting for each of the 4 major
subject areas. Improvement in weak areas that are heavily weighted in the blueprint will make a big
difference.
Example: Pharmacy Practice has a weighting of 50% (100 of 200 of the exam questions are in this area).

Refer to the PEBC website (www.pebc.ca) for the detailed examination blueprint under Pharmacist
Evaluating Examination ➢ Preparing for the Examination ➢ Examination Subject Areas (Blueprint).
Consider the content topics that fit within each subject. Refer to the Syllabus for more guidance on
individual curriculum subjects and content; the Syllabus is posted on the website under Pharmacist
Evaluating Examination ➢ Preparing for the Examination.

Preparation for Future Attempt (if applicable)

Resources available on the PEBC Website

Refer to information provided on the PEBC website for help in preparing. Use the navigation menus to
get to the topic of interest.
Example: From the Pharmacist homepage, under Pharmacist Evaluating Examination ➢ Preparing for
the Examination, the following sections include useful information:
➢ Examination Subject Areas (Blueprint)
➢ Sample Questions
➢ Pharmaceutical References and Learning Resources

Use the search function box in the upper right corner of the website to find specific content.
Example: If you enter “SI” in the search function box, it will return results of webpages that include the
term “SI”, such as the webpage on Examination Design and Style that discusses the use of SI units for
calculations.

Learning Tools and Studying

After identifying your knowledge gaps and learning needs, consider a variety of methods and resources
to improve your knowledge base and understanding, including self-study, continuing education units
(CEUs), study/review guides, Internet resources, Canadian workplace experience and others.

- Strive to improve in all areas where you identify weaknesses.

- No single reference or textbook will be sufficient to enable you to achieve a pass.
- Do not rush in making another examination attempt until you feel adequately prepared.
- Verbal and written language proficiency at a level suitable for a health professional is essential.
