Background

Karnataka has emerged as the growth engine for innovation and technology in India. The State is a globally
renowned Information Technology hub, with Bengaluru being the fourth largest technological cluster in the
world. Karnataka is the most sought-after destination for global capability centres, with presence of around
40% of GCCs in India.

The Department of Electronics, IT, Bt, Government of Karnataka has established an MNC Engagement Cell to
deepen engagement with tech focused companies based in Karnataka.

Purpose of the Session

We are pleased to invite you to participate in an exclusive and focused discussion, with the Government of
Karnataka. This session aims to foster a collaborative dialogue and gather valuable insights from industry
leaders like yourselves.

The Government of Karnataka is committed to creating a world-class business ecosystem that attracts and
retains businesses of all sizes. Through this discussion, we seek to:

• Understand companies' experiences in Karnataka, including successes, challenges, and areas for
improvement.
• Identify specific issues faced by companies and explore potential support mechanisms that the
Government of Karnataka can provide.
• Gather suggestions from industry experts to further enhance the business ecosystem and make
Karnataka an even more attractive destination for investment and growth.
o Skill development - What specific skills are in demand in the industry, and how can the government
contribute to skill development?
o Global competitiveness - How does the industry in Karnataka compare globally in terms of
competitiveness? Are there strategies or initiatives that can enhance global competitiveness?
o Supporting the startup and innovation ecosystem - How can companies work with the State
Government to support and contribute to the growth and development of the startup and innovation
ecosystem of Karnataka?

Post the session, the MNC Engagement Cell as part of the Department of Electronics, IT, Bt, Government of
Karnataka will connect with Companies, to address the points raised and take necessary follow-up actions.
