Peer-to-peer networks (P2P): When two or more computers are connected

client. It is generally used in small companies as they are not expensive.

a. SSH: The Secure Shell (SSH) protocol is a more secure method for remote

b. IOS: Cisco IOS (different from Apple’s iOS) is a proprietary kernel which
controls all functions of a Cisco router and most switches. Cisco IOS is based
on the operating system created by William Yeager at Stanford University

23. Discuss about the types of shared storage systems used in networking.

There are 3 types of shared storage systems:

NAS (Network Attached Storage), like the Jellyfish, which is a server with
storage space built into it .1 mark

SAN (Storage Area Network), which is a network for moving data to large disk
arrays. It requires a separate Network controller, and metadata controller
servers, in addition to the disk array. /1mark

RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks), which is essentially just a


collection of hard drives. Most SAN and NAS devices use some type of RAID at
the storage level of the systems for actually storing the data across several

to each other. Determine the methods used by mesh topology to transmit data.
