Hi Elena,
Thanks for your message. I love Boston! Yes, it’s cold, but my new apartment is nice and warm. Five girls live
here, and we’re all from different countries: China, the Philippines, Morocco, Canada, and Mexico. Three of us are
students (me, Zainah, and Cindy). The other two aren’t students: Cory is a sales assistant in a store downtown.
And Louise is a hotel clerk, but her job’s not very interesting! They’re all very nice, and funny!
The apartment’s great, and it’s next to school! The refrigerator’s really big, and the TV in the living room is big
too! My bedroom is very nice, and there are two beds. So, come and see me soon!
Love,
Janice

Virtual Reality glasses

Are you looking for a great present this Christmas? These 3D virtual reality (VR) glasses are my favorite present
this year. They aren’t boring glasses, they are really cool glasses. You put your cell phone into the glasses and
you can see a virtual reality experience. They are simple to use because all you need is a smartphone. They
are comfortable to wear and easy to use. These VR glasses are a great present for all the family because they
are popular with moms, dads, grandpas, and grandmas. They aren’t an expensive present and all the family
love them.

Smart speaker
I really like this smart speaker because I love music and I love parties. With this speaker I can enjoy my parties
and I don’t have to use apps or my laptop to play music. The speaker uses my playlists and playlists that my
friends give me. It is an easy way to play all my favorite songs and listen to bands that I like.
It has a nice design because it is small and there are three cool colors: red, gray, and orange. It isn’t cheap, but
it is easy to use and you don’t have to understand technology to use it.
If you like party music, then you will love the smart speaker!

out with my friends. We go out to a restaurant or a café and we chat a lot!
On the weekend, I always get up late and I have a big breakfast with Martina. Before we go to the mall I

Hi Iker
Are you ready for our trip to Vietnam? I’m so excited. Our vacation is in just 15 days. Amazing!!
We have to talk soon about what we are going to take with us. I have the plane tickets and the hotel
information but we need to talk about what clothes we are going to take with us.
I know that it’s the rainy season, but it’s going to be hot every day, so I’m going to take shorts and T-shirts. I
need to buy a hat for during the day. Oh, I know, I think my sister Clara has one that I can take. I need to go
shopping next week to buy some shoes for the beach.
I’m going to ask Clara to take us to the airport on the morning that we leave. The flight is at noon, so we need
to be at the airport at about 10:00, two hours before the flight. We’re not going to need more than two hours
because we don’t have many bags to check in.
I’m going to call Esteban this evening because he knows the country very well. I’m going to ask him to get
together with us next week. We can ask him questions and he has some photos from his last trip to Vietnam.
There are so many things that I want to do on this vacation. I have a list! I’m going to walk by the ocean, watch
the sunrise on the beach and we’re going to go dancing at night!
I’m really, really, ready for this trip!!

Hi Bruno,
How are you doing? It’s very quiet at home, now that you are at college. We’re all OK. Dad’s working at the
hospital this month and so he usually gets home late, so I don’t see him very much. Mom’s writing a new
book, so she doesn’t have much free time. I’m working really hard right now, but my last exam is on Friday
and so I’m going to take a break for a few days after that. I’m going to go surfing with Diego!!
I’m sending you some photos. I think the first one was a birthday party, because you can see some birthday
gifts. There were a lot of flowers in the garden, so I think it was spring. Mom and dad weren’t there, so it
wasn’t Dad’s birthday. I can’t remember when it was because it doesn’t have the date on the back. Where do
you think we were? I think it was Aunt Clancy’s house.
You’re going to love the second one, it’s funny. It was your first day at school. Your hair was so short! You were
so cute! And, look at Mom’s dress. It was an awful color! She never wears brown clothes now, not like the color
in this photo. I’m going to show her this photo, to see if she remembers the day.
OK. I’m going to finish what I’m doing.
See you soon!

good. Any they have some great desserts. We both had pineapple cake with coconut ice cream.
We both loved the restaurant because it was very light and there were a lot of plants. It was a special meal in
a very special garden restaurant.
The neighborhood near the hotel is nice to take a walk. There were some good stores. I think there was a
shopping mall, but the stores near the hotel were great. I bought some lovely shoes. It’s a big place but we

Report on The Riverside Hotel and Restaurant

I visited your hotel and restaurant on November 15th this year. This is a report about the quality of the hotel and
of the restaurant.
I stayed one night in your hotel on the night of November 15th. I stayed in room number 336.
The room was very light because it had a lot of windows. The bed was comfortable and the shower in the
bathroom was great. The bedroom had a large TV and a desk, but it didn’t have good Wi-Fi. It was very slow and
I needed Wi-Fi to do my work.
I had dinner that night in the hotel restaurant.
I had the fish soup and the chicken with black beans. The soup was good, but the chicken was awful and I didn’t
like the black beans.
For dessert I had chocolate cake with orange ice cream. After dessert I asked for coffee, but the server gave me a
cup of tea.
After the meal, I went to my room to think about your hotel and I drank coffee in my room. I’m giving your hotel
a review of two stars, because I wasn’t happy with the meal I had, and because it is important to have fast Wi-Fi
in the rooms.
