Keeping save in the mountains

Going hiking in the mountains is a well-known sport and it can be a good

type of excursion for the family too. In spite of this, there are lots of things that
may easily go wrong during our hike, therefore you should take some advice
before you start to pack your bag.
To begin with, always make sure that you have told someone where you
are going, in case of an accident. It is good to know that if something bad
happened to you, there is somebody who you could call immediatelly. Or in the
worst case, if you didn’t come home, they would inform the authorities of your
disappearance.
Secondly, don’t forget to bring lots of water. Intense sun and heat means
that dehydration is probably the number one problem that hikers are likely to
face. Never drink from a stream or from a pond, unless it’s really close to the
headwater. On the other hand, water can help you with cleaning a wound as
well.
Lastly, plan your route properly! Make sure that you have everything you
need, for instance a map, clothing, food and water and that you know how to
get to the trailhead. Consider hiring a guide if you aren’t confident enough,
particularly if there is snow.
To sum up, hiking in the mountains is always a good adventure for
everyone who wants to take up a new challange and enjoy the beauty of nature
at the same time. If you follow this simple advice, you find yourself more self-
confident and safe, even when you’re on the top of a mountain.
