RE: INVITATION TO A DIGITAL LITERACY TRAINING FOR POLITICALLY ACTIVE YOUNG WOMEN
AND CIVIL SOCIETY REPRESENTATIVES IN NAIROBI | 23rd JANUARY 2024 AT SAROVA PANAFRIC

With support from the Canadian High Commission through the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI),
Mzalendo Trust is implementing a project titled “Strengthening Digital Literacy for Increased Participation
& Social Inclusion.” The project seeks to equip Young Women, Journalists and young members of county
assemblies on misinformation, disinformation and practical ways of redress. This project further aims to
educate and build more robust safeguards about the spread and ways to identify misinformation, and
disinformation which is detrimental to democracy.

To create, enhance and build awareness of the impact of gendered disinformation, misinformation and
fake news on the political participation of youth and women in Kenya, we have planned a half-day digital
literacy training for young women and CSOs representatives. The training will also aim to steer
discussions on sustained advocacy efforts towards the regulation of gendered disinformation while
equipping the participants with the necessary and relevant skills to identify fake news and
dis/misinformation.

In recognition of your key role in digital inclusion, Mzalendo Trust wishes to invite you to a training
scheduled on 23rd January 2024 from 9:00 am to 1: 00 pm at Sarova Panafric Nairobi. To facilitate

before 22nd January 2024.
