Projects are often a great way to have a better understanding about the subject and yourself

that is your skills and weaknesses. Through the ASL assignment I have had a fruitful
experience. Although I made a few mistakes, they have taught me a valuable lesson. Since this
was a group project I have most importantly learnt coordination. As a group, we had to
unanimously decide on topics, divide work on the basis of relative strengths and interests and
be accountable to all the members of the group. By the means of this project, I learnt how to
effectively communicate with the group members and work according to the pace of different
people. The project allowed me to choose a text of my own choice. This led to choosing a topic
of my interest and researching it. The project helped me to expand my perspective and look
beyond the literal meaning. Analyzing the themes and connecting them to real life instances
changed my outlook on literature and encouraged me to keep an open mindset and look for
other possible interpretations. This lesson is useful in daily life as well when communications
are often misinterpreted due to a narrower perspective. The project has also helped me in
enhancing my technical skills of doing research. Finding a connection between the chapter and
ordinary human experiences which my group interviewed through a Google form gave
responses which broadened our insight. Also, the chapter " Rattrap" which was our chosen topic
taught me a moral that ' we should be aware of material attractions, as they might entrap us'.
When I received the assignment instructions, I misunderstood them and made a script from the
chapter without emphasizing the themes. Later when I learnt that it wasn't what we were
assigned to do, I was disheartened as I had put in a lot of effort into it. But I didn't resign and
decided to make the research more extensive and use the script as a side. My character in the
script is a girl named Edla who spreads the lesson of compassion through her actions and
encourages me to adopt it too. Regarding the submission of the project, the initial deadlines
provided us with little time for the completion of the project. Initially I fretted over not being able
to submit on time but it also encouraged me to learn to complete tasks within a smaller duration.
Overall, the project with all its fun and challenging aspects provided me with an enriching
experience and has provided me with lessons which I believe will help me in the future.
