DALL-E is a generative model developed by OpenAI.

It is a variant of the GPT (Generative Pre-

trained Transformer) architecture, speci cally designed for image generation. The name "DALL-E"
is a play on the name of the surrealist artist Salvador Dalí and the Pixar character WALL-E.

DALL-E is capable of generating images from textual descriptions. Given a textual prompt, the
model can create novel images that match the provided description. It demonstrates the ability to
generate diverse and imaginative visual content based on the input it receives.

The model was trained on a large dataset of images and utilizes a variant of the GPT architecture,
which is a transformer-based neural network. The transformer architecture has proven successful
in various natural language processing tasks and has been adapted for image generation in the
case of DALL-E.

One notable aspect of DALL-E is its ability to handle creative and abstract prompts, generating
images that may not exist in the real world but align with the textual descriptions. It showcases
the potential of generative models to contribute to creative tasks and artistic endeavors.

As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, DALL-E was one of the advancements in the
eld of generative models. It's possible that there have been further developments or new models
introduced since then.
