MISSIONARY RESPONSE

1.What event in Jesus’ life does it depict?

One example is the encounter between Jesus and the Samaritan woman at the well. In this story, Jesus
engages in a theological discussion with a Samaritan woman, breaking social and cultural norms of that
time. This event challenges gender and cultural barriers, emphasizing the importance of treating everyone
with equality and recognizing the inherent worth of individuals, regardless of their gender or background.
While this may not explicitly depict gender equality as we understand it today, it does reflect a departure
from the prevailing norms of Jesus' time and sets a foundation for principles that can be interpreted to
support the idea of equal dignity and value for all individuals.

2. What is the significance of this event to you?

Advocating about gender equality, peace, and justice is fundamentally about upholding the inherent
dignity and equality of every individual. It acknowledges that all people, regardless of gender, deserve
equal rights, opportunities, and treatment. Practicing these values reflects a commitment to personal
responsibility for positive change. It signifies an acknowledgment that each person has a role to play in
creating a world where everyone is treated fairly and has the opportunity to lead a life free from
discrimination.

3. Inspired by the event in Jesus’ life, what message do you want to convey to your viewers?

In our diverse world, let's celebrate the beauty of our differences and recognize that true strength lies in
unity. Gender equality is not just a goal; it's a fundamental right that, when achieved, enhances the well-
being of society as a whole. Each of us must take the first step towards a more inclusive and just society.
Let us be change agents, tearing down barriers and working together to create a society where love,
compassion, and equality lead. Let us, inspired by Jesus' empowering ministries, build understanding
bridges and leave a legacy of kindness, justice, and a common commitment to the well-being of
everyone."
